Terms of Service

Effective Date: 5/12/2026

These terms apply to all repair, maintenance, and diagnostic services provided by Stay Cool. By booking an engineer, you agree to these terms.

Diagnostic Fees

Call-out fees are payable immediately upon the engineer's arrival, regardless of whether a repair is possible.

Pre-Existing Faults

We are not liable for system failures caused by pre-existing age, corrosion, or lack of prior maintenance.

1. Services & Booking

We specialize in Repair and Maintenance only. We do not perform new installations.

  • Appointments: Time slots are estimates. We will contact you if our engineer is delayed by a previous emergency job.
  • Access: You must ensure the engineer has clear, safe access to the unit. If specialized access equipment (e.g., scaffolding) is required, this is the client's responsibility.

2. Payments & Pricing

  • Call-Out Fee: A fixed fee covers the engineer's travel and the first hour of diagnostics. This is non-refundable.
  • Parts: If parts are required, a quote will be provided. Parts must be paid for in advance before ordering.
  • Payment Terms: Commercial invoices are due within 14 days. Residential jobs must be settled upon completion via card or bank transfer.

3. Cancellations

We require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the call-out charge.
  • If our engineer arrives and cannot access the property, the full call-out fee applies.

4. Warranty on Repairs

We provide a 3-month warranty on all repair labour and a manufacturer's warranty on supplied parts.

Exclusions: This warranty does not cover:

  • Faults caused by lack of cleaning/maintenance.
  • New faults unrelated to the specific repair we performed.
  • Systems that are deemed "End of Life" by our engineer.

5. Liability

While we take every care, Stay Cool is not liable for:

  • Loss of business/revenue due to AC failure.
  • Damage to decor or plasterwork required to access concealed pipes (unless due to negligence).
  • Refrigerant leaks that occur on aging pipework during pressure testing.
